Metabula acquires DataBridge from Quillion
|
|
|
Metabula Ltd has acquired the IPR and distribution rights to DataBridge from Quillion Ltd.
Specialising in developing Enterprise Information Integration (EII) software solutions, Metabula will meet the needs for on-demand non-intrusive unified views of information across the organisation. This dramatically reduces the time and cost of information integration and allows for enhanced business decision making as well as easier consolidation and cleansing of an organisation's information.
Metabula's founder shareholders Roger Eatwell, CEO of Metabula, and Dr. Nigel Ball, CTO of Metabula, were closely involved with the development of DataBridge whilst at Quillion.
Information integration and presentation in the required views have become fundamental business issues for everyone thanks to the spiralling rate of change in numbers of data and information sources, operational requirements, data formats and software applications - DataBridge was created to address these issues. The first product under the Metabula banner will be launched immediately.
'Following the management and staff buy out of Quillion we decided to focus on our core strengths, which are the provision of data management solutions to companies operating in technical engineering environments. The DataBridge technology is highly innovative but its wide applicability did not match our aspirations of becoming the leading specialist in the provision of technical information. The commercialisation of DataBridge is best achieved by another organization such as Metabula' said Matthew Griffin, Managing Director of Quillion.
Roger Eatwell, CEO of Metabula, said 'Our software can help companies obtain unified views of their information without disrupting any of their systems, effectively like "virtual databases". These views are created on-the-fly and are therefore always up to date. As well as presenting a unified view of disparate sources, the "virtual database" can also be used to identify inconsistencies and to supply consolidated information to other systems. It can even reduce the likelihood of future problems by insulating end users from large amounts of rework when changes occur in the underlying systems.'
'Metabula's technology utilises the capabilities of best-of-breed components to provide a wide variety of standards-compliant capabilities out of the box. In particular Metabula is able to offer highly flexible metadata management facilities which allow our products to be configured to meet the ongoing needs of our customers and the market using industry standard techniques.'
